Academic Technology Launchpad: Mobile email
Quick Guide to computer and academic technology resources for students.
General instructions - your phone options may differ.
Open the email app. Select Settings, then Add Account.
Choose Exchange or Corporate.
Enter your college email address and password.
If prompted, Select Manual Setup and Microsoft Exchange Activesync
email: enter your email address -yourUsername@madisoncollege.edu
Server field: enter: outlook.office365.com
Domain or Domain/Username: varies depending on your Android version.
Enter your full email address.
If Domain and Username are separate text boxes, leave the Domain box empty and type your full email address in the Username box.
On some versions of Android, domain\username format works
Username: yourUsername@madisoncollege.edu (the full email address is required)
Password: enter your password
Security: SelectSSL/TLS, Use Secure Connection checkbox is checked. Check Accept all SSL certificates (if seen), Allow security control or permissions if asked. Tap Next and your information will be verified.
Select which items you would like to sync. Most users leave this as the default settings.
Remember toupdate your password on the Android too whenever you change your password.
Remove an email account in the built-in Android email app
To change the account information on your Android, you may need to remove and re-add the account.
Your options may vary depending on your Android device.
Whenever you change your password, you will need also need to update your passwords for college accounts on your mobile device - or you may get locked out of your college accounts. Contact Student Computer Help or Technology Services with questions.
Mobile device or data plan questions
Check with your wireless service provider and manufacturer with any questions about your device's capabilities or data plan.
By syncing your mobile device to the Exchange ActiveSync server, you will gain the ability to remotely wipe data from your mobile device. Remote Wipe should only be used in the event that your mobile device is lost or stolen.
