Preferred Name
You have the option to change your preferred name if you wish to have something different display in student systems such as Brightspace, myMadisonCollege and Outlook. Note: your legal name is used on transcripts and OneCard student ID. Follow the steps below to update your preferred name:
- Log in to your myMadisonCollege student portal.
- Click on the My Profile tile from your student homepage.
- From the Personal Details page, click on the Preferred row under the Names section.
- Make whatever changes you'd like. First and Last name fields are required.
- Click the Save button to apply your changes. Note: it may take some time for your new display name to appear in the student systems.
