What is Blackboard Collaborate?

Instructors may add recorded lectures, presentations or use web-conferencing using Blackboard's Collaboratelogo Collaborate

  • share a whiteboard
  • view web pages, Powerpoints, or video simultaneously
  • view or share documents
  • chat by voice or text
  • watch a pre-recorded session or lecture
  • and more

If your class is using Blackboard, your instructor will have links to Collaborate in your Blackboard course, or may email you a link, and they will let you know the dates and times the Collaborate sessions will be held. 

What do I need? Equipment and Compatibility: You'll need a computer with an reliable internet connection, and speakers or headphones. To participate with your audio and video, you may use a microphone, a USB headset, a webcam or the built-in webcam on a laptop.

Stop in the library if you have questions or want to book a multimedia study room / use library equipment so you can participate in a class session. 

Using technology on campus, we currently recommend using Firefox with Collaborate. Some issues have been reported using Chrome with Collaborate and Technology Services is checking on this.
