As we finalize our plans we will be communicating periodically with updates on timeline. Please plan to continue checking your College email to ensure you are up to date. The Libraries and Student Achievement Centers are already set up to use MCPrintAnywhere, so stop by to test it out.
All printers, across all campuses, will be evaluated for upgrade or consolidation. Managers in each area will be consulted prior to upgrade and consolidation. All upgraded printers will be replaced or reconfigured to support the new modern printing methodology. Exceptions include specialty use printers like check printers, 3D printers, plotters, etc. which will be excluded from this project.
The goal of these efforts is to reduce the College’s deployed printer fleet by 50% (remove at least 2 printers for every 1 new printer deployed).
Having a OneCard makes it very convenient to release print jobs and is recommended. However, if you forget or do not have a OneCard you can release print jobs by typing in your Madison College username and password instead of using a OneCard.
All MCPrintAnywhere printers support printing in color and grayscale.
Students: keep in mind that color printing is more costly at $0.50 per page vs. $0.05 per page for grayscale. Verify your settings before releasing your print job so you are charged accordingly. Refunds for misprints, jams, etc. are generally not offered as the cost is built into the allotment that students receive each semester.
Employees: Use duplicating services for larger or specialized print jobs.
See the guide page on printing as a guest.
As printers are updated to MCPrintAnywhere, you'll be able to send print jobs from almost anywhere and release them from any Print Smart printer.
