New Media and Education: What is 'New Media'?

It is primarily electronic communication through computers and mobile devices [i.e smart phones] that provide information and/or sharing capabilities between users that often have a defined personal, educational or recreational objective.  New media is ever-changing and expanding and continuously offers new options for teaching and communicating.

This guide was compiled by Madison College librarians and the College New Media Team to share information with faculty and staff to provide flexible and enhanced learning opportunities for our students.  It is an evolving tool. The Team has since disbanded and content is now maintained by Madison College librarians.
