What is Threads?
In July 2023, Instagram and its parent company Meta introduced Threads, a rival social media site to Twitter. Threads allows users to write, share, and respond to posts of up to 500 characters.
Threads is a separate app that users need to download from the app store, but an account requires a Instagram account. Once you download the app, you can login with your existing Instagram account. Users are given the option to follow people they follow on Instagram.
Note: if you choose to delete your Threads account, you will also be required to delete your Instagram account. You are able to deactivate your Threads account without deleting Instagram, however.
