Flickr is a popular photo sharing site that features social networking, content grouping, collaboration and critique of images, meetup groups, free and for-fee services. It features mobile uploads, feed services, robust image tagging and searching, as well as privacy and web searching restrictions.

Much of the content of Flickr is licensed for Creative Commons, non-commercial reuse, which makes it a good source of images for student projects and presentations. Searches on the site can be limited to those images that students may use freely.

Two alternatives to Flickr are Unsplash and Getty Images, a website featuring stock photos. Much like Flickr, users can upload images and specify how those images can be used by others.
