Gale Database Links
A Gale permalink can be created to a particular article or publication in Gale databases. Anyone who uses a durable or persistent link must have access to the database from which the URL came. Therefore, off-campus users must be authenticated as part of Madison College.
Create a Gale permalink:
- Log in to a Gale database
- Locate an article of interest. Click Get Link in the toolbar (pictured below) and a separate browser window will open. Do not use the link from the browser address bar.

- Select and copy the entire link.

- Paste the entire link into your document, Brightspace, webpage, or email.
- Test the link.
Notes:
- These URLs can become quite long and sometimes Brightspace, Microsoft, or other products may cut off long URLs, so be sure to test the links.
- Gale links are generally stable, however negotiated rights to publications change occasionally.
