Resources for locating Open Educational Resources for Educators and Librarians

What is the OER Academy?

The Open Educational Resources (OER) Academy offers a comprehensive and supportive learning experience designed to empower educators at all levels to leverage the full potential of OER. Led by seasoned experts in the field, this dynamic learning community provides participants with personalized support, interactive workshops, and invaluable resources to seamlessly integrate OER into their teaching practice. The Academy is designed to support your OER implementation over the course of the 2024-2025 academic year and can count towards your FQAS Continuing Professional development activities.

Participants can expect a rich array of benefits, including:

  • Personalized support from experienced OER experts.
  • Access to approximately 2 hours of optional online live meetings each month, providing opportunities for real-time collaboration and engagement.
  • A vibrant community of peers, where you can share insights, best practices, and resources.
  • Financial support by applying for a WTCS OER adoption or adaptation stipend.

Throughout the learning community, participants will explore the significance of OER in promoting accessibility, equity, and inclusivity in education. They will learn how to effectively locate, evaluate, and adapt OER materials to meet the diverse needs of their students, empowering them to create engaging, relevant, and high-quality learning experiences.
