Some common features of APA style (7th ed) formatted papers include:
- Times New Roman font (or other accepted Serif or Sans Serif font)
- 12-point size text preferred
- One inch margins, half inch paragraph indent
- Title page and abstract
- Running head with page numbers (title in running head optional for students in 7th edition, but all caps if included)
- Double spaced
- In-text citations
- The first in-text citation of a work by more than two authors may list only the first author, followed by “et al.”
- References page at the end:
- alphabetical order by author's last name (or title if author unknown)
- hanging indents
