E-Reader FAQs

To check out a device visit the Library and ask to check out one of the devices at the library service desk. If you haven't filled out a multimedia agreement form during the current school year for check out, library staff will ask you to fill one out. A student ID (OneCard) or another form of valid photo ID is required for checkout. After you fill out the form and present your ID you may check out a device if there are any available. Please note that only current Madison College students may check out these devices. Staff and faculty may not check out these devices.
Please return the device directly to a library staff member at the library service desk. Since the device is checked out to your account, just leaving it at the circulation desk and walking away is not acceptable. We ask that you do not put the device in the bookdrop. At this time all tablets/e-readers must be returned to the Truax campus library.

Since wireless printing is currently not supported in the library, you may not print from the devices.
We charge the batteries on each device after it is checked in, if it is running low. If the battery is running low while you are using a closed reserve e-reader, come up to the service desk and we will check out a charger to you. All e-readers that are available for 3 day check out are checked out in a case with a charger.
The library always strives to put students first. As a result, use of these devices is currently limited to students.
Please do not add your own content to any of the devices. Each device comes with preloaded content. To suggest an addition, click the link to the right and fill out our feedback survey or click the 'feedback' tab above.
