Math LIVE! Reopens Fall 2021

Guidelines for Using the Math Live Lab

  • You will be greeted by a Student Achievement Center Staff member when you enter the room.
  • Come with your resources ready! (books, notes, Blackboard site open, work you have already done, etc.)
  • You will be “sorted into a room” based on the kind of math you are working on.
  • You will be asked to share a room with others working on the same math.
  • To be fair to all students, the tutor will “float” from room to room spending 5 to 15 minutes in each area.
  • Send math problems in advance to peertutoring@madisoncollege.edu – problems sent to the tutor without adequate notice may cause a delay in the amount of time the tutor can spend with you.
  • Greeters will communicate with the tutor via chat and will demonstrate how to use the chat to contact them and/or the tutor.
  • Greeters will help the tutor monitor time by popping into the room when time is up.
  • Greeters may suggest making a one-to-one tutoring appointment or using Brainfuse if it seems appropriate and will connect students as needed to a Center team member for assistance.
