Dane County Public Health offers services such as immunizations, environmental safety, well water sampling, sexually transmitted disease screening, maternal-child health services, Women, Infant, Children (WIC) programs, dental health/fluoride programs for children, and smoking cessation information. Payment and eligibility requirements vary. Hours are typically Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Dean Clinic offers comprehensive medical services, such as prevention, screening, assessment, treatment, etc. They offer physical and occupational therapies, vision screening and optical dispensing, podiatry, pharmacy, and other services as well. Fees are based on services provided. They offer "urgent care" services Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and on weekends from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (holiday schedules vary). Dean Medical Centers are located throughout Madison and several surrounding communities.

Planned Parenthood offers women's health screening to include pelvic exams, clinical breast exams, sexually transmitted disease screening, birth control dispensing, pregnancy planning and counseling, and referrals to other community agencies. Payment and fees are based on income level. Hours are Monday - Friday, variable times.

Access Community Health Care Centers is one of more than 1,200 community health centers that provide care to more than 23 million people across the United States. Also called Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), community health centers are local, non-profit care providers serving low income and medically underserved communities.

UW Health-Physicians Plus offers comprehensive medical services, such as prevention, screening, assessment, treatment, etc. They have multiple specialty practices that address all of your needs. Fees are based on services provided. They offer "immediate care" services from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., seven days a week (holiday schedules vary). UW Health-Physicians Plus clinics are located throughout Madison and in several surrounding communities.

  • BadgerCare Plus is a program for children under 19 years of age and families in Wisconsin who need and want health insurance. This program is open to all children, regardless of family income.  Visit the website to find more information, check your eligibility, and apply for the program.
  • Foodshare Wisconsin helps low-income families and individuals to buy nutritious food. Information on who qualifies and how to apply is listed on their Web page. Contact the Foodshare helpline at 1-877-366-3635 or visit the website for more information about their Quest Card program.
  • Wisconsin Medicaid is a program from the federal and state government. For those people who qualify, this program pays for medical services. People who may qualify include people with disabilities, people 65 years who meet the program's financial requirements and are United States citizens or legal immigrants. Go to the website to learn more about this program and how to find out if you qualify.
  • The Office for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provides links to useful resources for the deaf and hard of hearing in the state of Wisconsin.
  • The Medigap Helpline may help you make decisions about Medicare and other insurance issues. This free helpline is sponsored by the State of Wisconsin, State Health Insurance & Assistance Program (SHIP). For more information, call the helpline at 1-800-242-1060.
  • The Prescription Drug Assistance website provides links to help and information about prescription drug prices.
  • The Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line offers free coaching on how to quit smoking or chewing tobacco. This site is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW or go to their website to learn more.
