MLA Citation Style

Some common features of MLA style formatted papers include:

  • Times New Roman font
  • 12-point size text
  • One inch margins
  • Title of paper centered
  • Header with last name and page number in upper right
  • Double spaced 
  • In-text citations
  • Italics used for titles of works
  • Works Cited page at the end: 
    • alphabetical order by author's last name (or title if author unknown)
    • hanging indents
