What to Expect for my Appointment

General Information You Need to Know

  • On-site appointments will be available from  (Appointment times are changing)
    9:00 am - 1:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday at Truax and Goodman South campuses. )
    1:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Tuesday, Thursday at Truax and Goodman South campuses.
    9:00 am - 1:00 pm on Monday through Thursday at all other campuses except Portage.
  • Only current  Madison College students may book an appointment. No community member use at this time.
  • Appointments can be booked for the Truax, South, Fort, Watertown and Reedsburg campuses.
  • Two types of appointments are available -- a 15-minute appointment for Tech/Research help and a 45-minute appointment for quiet study that begins at the top of the hour. Group study rooms will not be available.
    30-minute appointments at Goodman South began October 24.  Appointments can be conducted en Espanol.
  • Appointments are booked online 12 hours in advance for 1 individual at a time.  Please do not bring others with you to the appointment.
  • Students are limited to 2 library appointments per week to allow all your fellow students an opportunity.
  • You will be expected to follow all College guidelines for safety including wearing a mask over your nose and mouth at all times during your appointment.  Our staff is required to do the same and we will.

Your Appointment

  • A library staff member will greet you at the door at the time of your appointment.  If you are more than 10 minutes late for a 45-minute session or 5-minutes late for a 15-minute session your appointment may be canceled.
  • If you need to cancel, please cancel online by 8:00 am the morning of the appointment.
  • Please be wearing your mask upon your arrival.  We encourage use of our hand sanitizer stations upon entrance.
  • You are strongly encouraged to bring your own laptop or your College-loaned laptops and any school supplies (pens,pencils, highlighters,etc) you may need.  Limited laptops may be available to check-out for library use only.
  • Reserve items/textbooks will not be available for check-out at this time because of high-touch use.  Multiple use of items between individuals is not recommended by the American Libraries Association at this time.  Any library material like books, models, etc. that are touched need to be quarantined for 72 hours.  We may be able to help you in other ways, however.  Please ask.
  • At booking, you were assigned a carrel number, you may directly proceed to the marked matching carrel. Please check yourself in on your smartphone from your appointment confirmation email.  Otherwise check-in with staff.
  • If scheduled for a 15-minute appointment, you will be directed to the Instruction room where there will be assigned seating.
  • Each carrel has electrical. Carrels are a minimum of 6 feet apart.
  • Printing is available from a dedicated station within the library. All print-outs will be retrieved by staff.  Please do not wait to print at the end of the appointment to avoid delays and social distancing concerns.  Print throughout the appointment.  We are happy to retrieve your work.
  • Scanning will not be available.
  • Shortly before the quarter to the hour you will be asked to wind up your work, clean your station with provided disinfectants and get ready to depart for the day.  We need your cooperation to do this in a timely manner as we need to prepare for the safety of the next group of appointments.

Sunday 1:00 pm - 5:00


All Libraries will closed from Sat. Sep 5 through Mon Sep 7 for Labor Day holiday weekend.
