Student Achievement Center Policies: Group Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms

Student Achievement Centers Group Study Rooms

Student Achievement Center group study rooms are for students working with faculty, peer tutors or a group for academic purposes for collaborative learning.  Rooms and equipment are often in high demand.  Students should plan accordingly and in advance.

Guidelines

  • Priority for the Center rooms will be given to students needing academic support as provided in the Student Achievement Center.  General usage group rooms are available in our libraries at Truax, Fort, Reedsburg and Watertown and there may be times when students will be directed to those.
  • All Madison College Policies apply including the Madison College computer use policies, and the Madison College student code of conduct.
  • All users must comply with copyright laws when using and creating materials. Refer to Madison College copyright policies.
  • Do not alter hardware configurations or install any additional software on the Madison College computers or LCD's.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the Group Study Rooms.  SAC staff and other Madison College personnel monitor the use of the rooms.
  • Students should have no expectation of privacy.
  • The rooms are not sound-proof so we ask that students refrain from yelling, talking very loud, etc. to avoid disturbing others in the SAC.
  • Exiting the Center with resources or equipment is considered theft and will be reported to the College and authorities when necessary.
  • Students working with audio in the rooms should keep the volume low or use headphones.
  • Abuse of equipment or group study room policies will result in immediate termination of use for applicable checkout period and repeat offenders of policy will have equipment and room checkout privileges suspended for duration of current semester.
  • Multimedia support and equipment is available in our Truax Library group study rooms only.  Please book a room in the Truax Library if needing that type of support.
